Jeffers' baseball had to travel to Ironwood to play in the District 97 tournament. Jeffers defeated Ewen to advance to the championship to play the Gogebic Miners. Gogebic and Jeffers tied and shared the Copper Mountain Conference regular season championship. The matchup also highlighted the Pitcher of the Year, CJ Waino from Gogebic, against the MVP, Cody Turner from Jeffers. Jeffers would jump out to a 2-1 lead after three innings and would keep adding runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, increasing their lead to 6-1. Turner outdueled Waino by recording 12 strikeouts and allowing five hits. On offense, Turner was intentionally walked 4 times, which required other players to step up. Brogan Turner was 2-4 with a double and one RBI, Blake Heltunen was 2-4 with a RBI, and Pierce Johnson went 2-3. Jeffers now advance to the Regionals on June 4th at 4 pm in Felch and will play Norway.
